Will Vick be Back on Field after Imprisonment?
Jim Mora, the Seahawks coach said that Michael Vick deserves to back in the NFL. Michael Vick, the quarterback of Atlanta Falcons, was suspended and was imprisoned because of the alleged pit bull fighting which took place in his house in Smithfield, Va that was believed to be done since 2001. He will be finishing his sentence on July 20, 2009 after serving a 23-month sentence for an illegal dog fighting at his home.
Mora believed that Vick already paid his debt to the society after being imprisoned. However, Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner has not yet committed into reinstating Vick back to the NFL.
Mora said that he spoke with Vick before he was imprisoned in the fall of 2007 that was 10 months after the suspension of Vick from the Falcons. Although Vick is still under a contract with the Falcons, the team made it clear that Vick will never be playing with the Falcons again.
When Mora was asked if ever Vick will be reinstated in the NFL, will he be wiling to welcome Falcon to the Seahawks, with the roster that he has on his quarterbacks, Mora answered that at this time, they do not have the plans yet of adding another quarterback because of the complexity of the situation where Vick is still under a contract with the Falcons. When he was asked, if Vick would be a free man in the summer, would he give him a chance to pay with the Seahawks? Mora just gave out an answer that he is happy with the quarterbacks that he has right now and would not have Vick on his team.
This is a speculation that could be given an answer in months to come when Vick would become a freeman finally. Will this speculation come into reality? This is for us to find out in the months to come before the next season in the NFL begins.
