Randy Moss Decides To Hang His Boots

The most popular among the wide receivers in the modern NFL arena, Randy Moss, has decided to call it quits and the news has been out from the wide receiver’s agent Joel Segal. The NFL clubs that Moss has played for are Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. Randy Moss career spanning 13 NFL seasons was a high prolific one with records galore. Moss’s achievement in the NFL football arena speaks volume of the amazing playing skills and talent that this bloke possesses. He is the best in the business when it comes to touchdown grabs. He has amassed a total of 52 grabs from 2007 to 2010 and the next title contender for this race is Larry Fitzgerald with 41 touchdown grabs.
Randy Moss, a six time Pro Bowler in the NFL, has had a poor outing off late in the 2010-11 championships and this could be one of the reasons prompting him to retire from the NFL scene. The Minnesota Vikings were the first team that introduced him to NFL championship in the year 1998 as a draft player. The rookie Moss then showed that he belonged to this big league by holding on to 69 passes for 1,313 yards and completing 17 touchdowns. A remarkable achievement by any rookie and this made everyone sit and notice this talented player. His last season record stands at 28 catches for 393 yards for just 5 touchdowns.
The other records that Randy Moss’s holds include fifth in receiving yards (14,858 yards), fifth position in all time touchdowns at 154 and 954 receptions that puts him in the eighth place. The 34 year old Randy Moss feels that he has had enough football in his life so far and now wants to move on with his life. Many experts feel that the performance that Randy Moss displayed in the last season is the main reason for his retirement from the sport. There were lots of criticisms in the way he played last season. Even the way in which he shifted with teams last season from Patriots to Tennessee and finally to Vikings indicates that there was something seriously wrong with his mental strength to cope up with the game’s extra pressure. He is a great individual player and probably a Hall of Fame player according to some critics but off late he has not been in the thick of things and his concentration levels have taken a serious dip. Hence, retiring from the game will do Moss a world of good.
